More than 16,159 bitcoin wallets now contain 100+ BTC, according to analytics provider Glassnode. A report released by the company on Oct.19 says the number is testing the previous six-month high of 16,158, last seen on June 8th.
Glassnode also reported that on October 19, the number of non-zero bitcoin addresses reached a record high of 31,913,3555; About 5,000 of them were registered in the last 24 hours.
On October 5, Cointelegraph reported that market analyst and cyclist Cole Garner reported a record two-year increase in new bitcoins during the first week of October.
Using data from Glassnode, Garner determined that there were about 22,000 new “units” of bitcoin in one day – a big jump from the usual 5-10,000 per day.
Bitcoin wallets crossed 30 million non-zero coins for the first time in May. Over 99% of these wallets contained less than a modest 10 BTC.
