The Reddit r / Bitcoin community continues to woo our hearts. On Thursday, a user called “u / Bigtony96” stated that he sold his entire Bitcoin (BTC) wallet to pay off his parents’ mortgage.

The Redditor is said to have thrown a total of 6 BTC backlog in the past three years to close the balance remaining in the parent’s home. They said there would be enough money to pay taxes and possibly buy a new car.

The user said, “Today is the day I have been dreaming about for the past few years, and it looks very surreal.”

In their post, u / Bigtony96 explained why they wanted to help their parents, whose restaurant business was ruined by a government ban:

“My parents are everything to me. […] They work in the restaurant business, the epidemic has forced them to burn a large portion of their savings, and they are stressed every day because of the economy. My father always told me that one day he would retire once the house wage was paid. And that day has finally come. ”
While u / Bigtony96 did not say exactly when the BTC was sold, the sale most likely occurred on Thursday, as mentioned in the post’s title: “Sold only to pay my father’s mortgage.”

Bitcoin price surpassed $ 40,000 on Thursday, in an impressive show of strength. According to Cointelegraph, it took BTC less than three weeks to double the price from $ 20,000.

This isn’t the first time Cointelegraph has heard of exciting stories from the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency communities on Reddit. Earlier this week, Cointelegraph reported that a user sold free Reddit Moon codes for rent, and used all of their savings. Another manages to hide the distinctive moon coins obtained through societal participation in bitcoins with huge profits.
