Thales, a French multinational company specializing in products and services for the aerospace and defense industry, is using blockchain technology for a new control system at a manufacturing center in Spain.
Thales is developing technologies such as blockchain and big data to enable the digital transformation of the defense and air manufacturing and service center, according to an official announcement on November 5.
As part of this initiative, the Paris-based company wants to meet NATO and defense standards, which use blockchain to improve the traceability of operations in the city center. Announcement text:
“In order to meet NATO standards and the standards of the ministries of defense with which the company works, blockchain will be used to provide traceability for all parts and products processed in the manufacturing and service center.”
According to the announcement, the blockchain will be part of a new governance system that will connect to all applications currently in use on the network. The new platform is expected to effectively integrate all operations, improve customer interaction and maintenance operations.
